Cookie Policy
Section 01
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your login session, preferences, or shopping cart — so you do not have to re-enter it each time.
Spots (operated by Digicore) uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage tokens and Redis-backed session keys to provide, secure, and improve the Services.
Section 02
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you logged in to your merchant or developer account across page visits.
- Protect the platform from Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks.
- Remember your language, currency display, and dashboard layout preferences.
- Hold product cart reservations for buyers on merchant storefronts (via Redis-backed tokens with a fixed expiry window).
- Understand how the platform is used so we can improve it — using anonymised analytics data.
Section 03
Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Essential / Session | Maintains your login session, stores your CSRF token, and keeps your merchant dashboard functional. Without these, the platform cannot operate. | |
| Functional | Remembers your preferences — language, currency, sidebar state, and onboarding progress — so you do not have to re-configure them on every visit. | |
| Cart Reservation Token | A Redis-backed temporary token (not a persistent cookie) that reserves product stock for a buyer's active cart for a fixed time window. It expires automatically when the session ends or the window closes. | |
| Analytics | Collects anonymised data about how pages are visited, which features are used, and where users drop off — helping us improve the platform. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics cookies. |
Section 04
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on Spots storefronts are set by third-party services we integrate with:
- Paystack / Stripe: payment session tokens required to process transactions securely. These are set only during checkout and are governed by each processor's own cookie policy.
- Google Maps Platform: short-lived session data used to compute delivery distances. We do not persist map query data or allow Google to use it for advertising against our users.
- Analytics provider: if you have not opted out of analytics cookies, an anonymised session identifier may be set by our analytics provider to aggregate usage statistics.
We do not control third-party cookies. Please refer to the relevant third-party privacy policies for details on how they manage cookies.
Section 05
